Resurrection - again!

As you might have noticed already, I revamped this blog and will started using it more often as I intended to when it was created. You’ll still have igornoronha.tumblr.com, my main blog, where I’ll reblog all the other blogs I have. And the little ones, like this one and maybe more soon.

E vou postar uma coisa ou outra em Português também ;)

And, of course, there’s the Light Apprentice website! Portuguese here.

Valeu!

Light Apprentice relaunched, now available on Graphic.ly

April 3rd. Viborg, Denmark - The Fantasy RPG comic book series Light Apprentice is now available on Graphic.ly for 0.99 cents. Each issue will have 16 color pages (except for the first issue, that has 22) and will come out every first Friday of each month.

Igor Noronha, creator of the property (which spawned a series of animated shorts, soon available for purchase as well), talks about what to expect in the near future. “Although the first story arc has 7 issues, I have outlined the plot as far as issue 24. Now with the comic coming out monthly, I hope I can acomplish that in around two years of constant hardwork”.

When asked about publishing in print, he answers: “I got tired of looking for publishers on my own and realized they’re not indispensable anymore. We’re in the middle of a big turning point in publishing history, wether it’s comics, music, magazines or newspapers. Realizing that, I split my animation studio in two - the second half is now dedicated to publishing comics digitally, and Light Apprentice is just the beginning. But if a good deal for print shows up, there would be no reason not to take it. Meanwhile, I can continue using Ka-Blam and IndyPlanet.”

The story so far

Viborg, Denmark. May 2nd, 2010 1:37pm

The Light Apprentice Project started when I had one year leftto graduate from college, in mid-2007. Actually it started way before, but that was when I decided the formats I wanted it to be: a comic book AND an animation. And I set my mind to really go after making it happen. Make my dreams happen.

I went through many trials and hard times so far (and it’s still far from finished), from offering the comic for free at my old website (had to stop because it was not helping me make a living… that’s when the hard times came in) to asking people to donate money for the animation, since it’s made mainly by me and I have no budget at all. I so far got $30 from the total goal of $3000, so not much success there either. So I had to do it all by myself in my “spare” time, hence why it’s taking so long.

But now it’s finally looking like something real.

Because the animation is almost finished (people that come chat during the Livestream sessions already know how it’s going to look like) and I remade the first issue to match the second and third in quality.

So, by July, I plan on releasing the first three chapters collected so you can buy online. On May 22-23, I’ll be handing out some samples at the Komiks.dk convention in Copenhagen. So if you’re there, be sure to find me!

Come back to this website on the following weeks to know more about the project and how it’s looking like, because..

This is just the start, folks. Now we’ll to start talking.

See you later!
